Kids Flying Tip #1: BOARD EARLY

If you want to make sure you have enough room for all of your (and your little ones') carry-ons then be sure to take advantage of perhaps the only benefit when flying with kids - early boarding.

Kids Flying Tip #2:  KEEP THEM OCCUPIED

Parents...we know.

If your kids aren't occupied on something they'll be occupied on everything around them!

In this case that would be the passengers in front and behind you.

Here are some fun travel activities you can bring along to keep your little bundle of joy(s) occupied:

  • iPad
  • Kindle
  • Nintendo DS
  • LeapPad
  • Coloring books
  • Sticker books
  • Crayons
  • Markers
  • Stuffed animals
  • Playing cards

Kids Flying Tip #3: BRING SNACKS

Children are like mini-Godzillas.

When they're hungry they will wreak havoc until their palettes are satisfied.

Avoid unnecessary mama drama and pack some delicious (and nutritious) snacks.

Here are some ideas:

  • Granola bars
  • Cut fruit
  • Dried fruit
  • Nuts/trail mix
  • Cheese sticks
  • Hard-boiled eggs
  • Raw veggies
  • Whole grain crackers

Kids Flying Tip Tip #4: BRING GUM

You know that"sensation" of your ears absolutely exploding when the plane takes off?

Well, if you didn't know already, it's MUCH worse for kids!

Bring some gum or something for your little one to chew on to avoid what will surely sound like the shrill screech of a banshee.

Don't forget to pack emergency wet wipes & pull ups....just in case.

Kids Flying Tip #6. CALL THE POLICE

We stole this brilliant idea from Mary Porter of Skyscanner.

Warn your children about the 'Airplane Police' who are on the lookout for poorly behaved children.

Obviously, don't try to scare your kids (dad!) but it can be a fun little trick to keep your precious little angels in their precious angelic state.

Kids Flying Tip #7:  AVOID THE RED EYE

Red eye flights depart late at night and arrive early in morning.

Not only are they bad for one's health but they will make you AND your children miserable for obvious reasons.

Try to avoid the red eye if you can but if you really cannot be sure to pack a Koala Kloud inflatable footrest/ bedrest and a travel blanket for your children to sleep in peace.

Kids Flying Tip #8: KEEP EM' COMFY

Comfortable Child = Happy Child = Happy Passengers & Happy Parents

It's a simple formula that is so often so hard to put into practice.

That is...until you pack a Koala Kloud!

What the heck is a Koala Kloud?

Koala Kloud is an inflatable travel footrest that turns the cramped space in between seats into a comfortable footrest or bedrest for you kids to fly with their legs up (instead of kicking the seat in front) or lay down for a peaceful nap.

You can get 15% OFF Koala Kloud on Amazon with the promo code "KOALA15".

So, which tip is your favorite?
